Our Interventional Neuroradiologists and neuroscience experts are continually exploring how to treat and improve the quality of life for patients suffering from neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s, Epilepsy and stroke through research and compassionate care.
Comprehensive Stroke Center
When you are having a stroke, access to our Comprehensive Stroke Center is critical. The Comprehensive Stroke Center at Holy Cross is known as one of the best centers in South Florida for stroke care. In fact, we’re the only hospital in Broward County to use a 256-slice CT scanner to enable effective treatment of wake-up strokes. Holy Cross is the recipient of the 2010 American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award. Help us continue this invaluable service to our patients by making a gift designated to the Stroke Center today.
The Interventional Neuroradiology Suite, led by Dr. Lazlo Miskolczi, increases the intravenous acute stroke treatment window to eight hours – a great improvement over the usual zero to three hours. These additional five hours could save many lives. Help us continue this potentially life-saving advancements by making a gift today.
Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
Epilepsy is the most common chronic neurological disorder. The epilepsy monitoring unit at Holy Cross Hospital houses state-of-the-art digital equipment. Holy Cross and South Florida epilepsy expert Dr. Eduardo Locatelli opened a four-bed epilepsy monitoring unit in January 2008, which houses the region’s most sophisticated diagnostic technology for epilepsy. Here, Dr. Locatelli and the clinical staff are able to monitor and assist with the diagnosis of complicated seizure cases while patients stay in comfortable private rooms in a medically supervised environment. Designate a donation to the epilepsy monitoring unit today and help Dr. Locatelli continue providing excellent and compassionate care to his patients.
Our neuroscience experts at Holy Cross Hospital, like Interventional Neuroradiologist Dr. Lazlo Miskolczi, are exploring how to improve the quality of life for patients suffering from neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s, Epilepsy and Stroke. They can lead to numerous medical conditions that could be prevented with proper diagnosis and treatment. The Sleep Disorder Lab at Holy Cross Hospital was developed in order to meet the needs of these patients. The lab provides overnight sleep studies and the interpretation of the sleep parameters. The laboratory provides physicians with scored reports attained by an in-house sleep technologist and specialists. Help us maintain these services by making gift today.
