Research Campaigns

Jim Moran Heart and Vascular Research Institute

The Jim Moran Heart and Vascular Research Institute at Holy Cross is a cardiovascular research center specializing in groundbreaking clinical trials for the diagnosis and treatment of heart, coronary artery and vascular disease. Our goal for doing research is to enhance the quality of life for all patients by furthering scientific and medical advancements. The Research Institute will join the few community-based, non-teaching medical centers in the country to engage in academic and industry sponsored research collaborations. We’re offering patients access to advanced clinical therapies that would otherwise not be available in South Florida, and beyond. All donations to this vital research at the Research Institute will be matched by JM Family Enterprises, Inc. through The Moran Challenge, $1.00 for every $1.60 contributed up to $16 million. Through this match, the impact of your donation multiplies increasing the chances of providing hope to cardiac patients. Heart disease is the number one killer in America, and the Research Institute is our hope for a cure. Make a difference and donate today.

Cancer Research

The Michael and Dianne Bienes Comprehensive Cancer Center is committed to providing the absolute best care possible. Our growing research program offers hope for a cure by allowing our patients to access more than 25 current clinical trials for various cancers and allowing us to partner with national and international cancer experts on progressive treatments for them while they continue their care at home in South Florida. We are also now working together with Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center to provide South Florida residents with rapid access to specialized cancer care and genetic counseling. Cancer research studies are conducted to find out if new approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment are safe and effective. Help us continue providing quality cancer care and potentially life saving research for our community by donating to Cancer Research today.

Orthopedic Research

The Holy Cross Orthopedic Research Institute has achieved groundbreaking accomplishments in clinical research. Our physicians have over 30 peer-reviewed publications in orthopedic literature. We have developed and designed the latest knee and shoulder replacement devices.  We have established key protocols for orthopedic rehabilitation, as well as introduced cutting-edge techniques that have facilitated quicker recovery times and minimized pain. As a not-for-profit entity, the Holy Cross Hospital Orthopedic Research Institute depends on the generosity of people like you to help maintain our mission to provide the absolute best treatment and our strong commitment to advancement in orthopedic surgery. With your support, we can continue to facilitate orthopedic innovation though research and development, and find ways to speed up recovery and minimize pain. Your generosity allows us to understand what it takes to improve joint and muscle function, and methods to get patients back to the activities they enjoy.

Neuroscience Research

Our neuroscience experts at Holy Cross Hospital, like Interventional Neuroradiologist Dr. Lazlo Miskolczi, are exploring how to improve the quality of life for patients suffering from neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s, Epilepsy and Stroke. In addition to Dr. William McRoberts’ several pain studies dealing with the neurological system, a current study being conducted by Dr. Jonathan Harris is looking at how well an investigational drug and delivery system works as treatment for patients with advanced Parkinson’s disease and severe motor-fluctuations. Help support this research by making a donation today.

Research Community Council

This founding group of community leaders has committed to helping Holy Cross Hospital become a leading research and teaching center in South Florida.
